Finally legal: what it means to be an adult around the world

I was really excited to write this article.

I know for us, in Australia, turning 18 is kind of a big deal. It’s when we are legally able to do a lot of the stuff we’ve been pretending not to have been doing for the past 4 years…

But not every country places such an emphasis on the age you become an adult. In other cultures, it’s more about being able to prove to society that you are responsible and mature enough to be a contributing and self-sufficient member of society.

So is there a right and wrong?
Have a read of my article for Deakin Uni here.
