My perfect job is now. My perfect job is here. I am exactly where I need to be. Where I should be. In a classroom, Monday to Friday, with a cohort of 10 year olds I call ‘my kids’. I am an educator, a nurse, a peace maker and an adjudicator.
I often see these children more regularly than their estranged father, or their off-the-rails mother.
I am a supporter, a confidant, a shoulder to cry on, a friend to laugh with – or an adult that finally set those boundaries that are so often craved.
I love my job. I am exactly where I need to be.
